Eyebrow Styling FAQs
Is there anything I can do before my brow styling appointment?
A couple of days before your brow styling appointment, gently exfoliate your eyebrows. However, don’t do this on the day, as exfoliation can leave an oily residue.
How long does normal brow tint last?
On average, brow tint can last 10-14 days on the hair. An oilier skin type may find that the tint lasts for less time than those with dryer skin.
What if I'm allergic to normal brow tint?
If you are allergic to both normal tint and dye, we can still get you looking gorgeous with a 'Brow Tidy' which includes a trim, wax, tweeze and shape.
How long does Brow Dye last for?
Brow dye can last for up to 1 week on the skin and 4 weeks on the hair. Brow dye is an EDC favourite and can be applied in a way to be natural or give a full stain on the skin for a more defined look.
How can I make my brow tint last longer?
To make your henna or tint last longer, do not wet your brows for the first 24 hours after your henna tint. Avoid using active skincare around the brow area and avoid excessive cleansing.
Can I wax if I'm on roacutane?
No, you cannot wax if you are on roacutane. You need to wait a minimum of 6 months before having any waxing treatments. And please remember to tell your technician if you are on Roacutane. But don’t worry, if you can’t have any waxing, we can tweeze those pesky hairs instead.
How often should I get my brows done?
EDC recommends every 4-6 weeks. However this is totally dependant on your hair growth cycle and personal preference.
Should I do my spray tan before or after my appointment?
We recommend you have your Brow Style BEFORE your spray tan. If you have your Brow Style after, it can cause the tint to discolour (go green or orange, which is not always what you want) and grab excessively to the skin, making it look a little untidy. So: brows first; tan second!
Brow Lamination FAQs
What is brow lamination?
A brow lamination treatment is similar to a lash lift. The treatment and technique used creates a full, feathered and more voluminous looking brow.
How does brow lamination work?
The brow lamination treatment is broken down into 3 solutions. Solution 1 breaks down the bonds in the hairs, softening them so they can be manipulated into new position directions. Solution 2 reforms the bonds into their new shape. Solution 3 nourishes and replenishes the brows adding in moisture. (If booked in for a tint, this is done between steps 2 and 3.
How long does brow lamination last?
Brow lamination lasts anywhere 4-8 weeks. This timeframe varies for each client depending on brow client hair thickness, aftercare and lifestyle.
Is brow lamination painful?
The brow lamination treatment is entirely pain free. Clients may expect slight tingling on the skin after the second solution has been applied. This is simply because the solution is being applied after waxing.
What products do you use?
EDC has trained in and uses high quality for brow lamination. All of our lamination productrs are:
- Keratin based solution
- Animal cruelty free
- Paraben free
- Fermaldehyde free
How long do I have to avoid my newly laminated brows getting wet?
Keep your newly laminated brows dry for 48 hours.
Do they look wet straight after?
Your new laminated brows will have a slight wet looks to them. This is due to the nourishing solution that is applied in the last step which adds hydration back into the brows. Once you wet your brows this goes away.
Will I need to fill in my brows after having them laminated?
This depends how much hair you have. If you have sparse spots then yes, there is a chance you will still need to fill them in. Brow lamination helps to change directions of hairs which in some cases may not cover sparse spots.
Who is lamination suitable for?
- If you have hairs that grow in undesirable directions.
- Thin brows that lay flat - by brushing them up brows can look much fuller and wider.
- If you love a full and brushed up brow.
- If you already have cosmetic tattooing - by reseting hairs over tattooing it makes them look more textured and uniform.
Who is lamination NOT suitable for?
- People who have little to no hair.
- If you prefer a more perfectly groomed brow.
- If your brows grow quickly and you are someone who needs a lot of trimming, you may find they begin to look untidy quicker with this treatment. You can still try Lamination you may just find that you have to get them tidied up sooner than usual.
My brow hairs have gone a little dry after my lamination, is this normal?
It's important to remember, with any treatment that changes the makeup of your hair, aftercare and looking after your brow hairs is very important! This is why we provide a home care pack with an oil in it. It is normal for your brows to get dry, and if they are too dry to re-laminate, our therpaist will also guide you on whats best for your brow hairs health and integrity.
